Program Highlights :

The International Studies program offers four majors.

1. Chinese Studies
Students will participate in summer study programs in China every year. They will gain in-depth knowledge of lifestyle and culture through direct exposure to local communities and real-life contexts. This provides a complete understanding of language and cultural practices. Instruction is delivered by native speakers, and the Faculty of International Studies collaborates with the Confucius Institute at PSU Phuket, which is the regional headquarters and the most important Chinese language proficiency testing center in Southern Thailand (e.g., HSK, HSKK, YCT, BCT).

2. Korean Studies
Students will participate in summer study programs in Korea during their third year, semester three. They will acquire in-depth understanding of Korean lifestyle and culture, experiencing local communities and contexts that foster a comprehensive understanding of language and cultural practices.

3. Thai and ASEAN Studies
Students will participate in summer study programs in Thailand or other ASEAN countries every year. They will engage in in-depth study of local lifestyles and cultures, enhancing their understanding of language and cultural practices through real-world exposure.

4. European Studies
Students will take part in educational field trips to European countries in their third year, semester three. They will gain in-depth understanding of European lifestyles and cultures, experiencing communities and contexts that enable them to achieve comprehensive cultural and linguistic competence.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) :

PLO 1: Use all four English language skills correctly and appropriately in professional contexts.

PLO 2: Use all four skills of a third language correctly and appropriately in professional contexts.

PLO 3: Apply knowledge and understanding of global social change trends and international relations in both academic and professional settings.

PLO 4: Behave and interact in business contexts across different cultures correctly and appropriately.

PLO 5: Use information technology for research, study, and self-development in academic or professional contexts in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Graduate Attributes :

Graduates will develop perspectives in international business, with knowledge and competencies in international business as well as interdisciplinary understanding in related fields. Importantly, all students will have opportunities to study the Chinese language and culture directly at universities in China during annual summer programs.
